Dietary Supervisor Jobs in Illinois

A Dietary Supervisor in the nutrition industry plays a crucial role in planning, organizing, and monitoring food service operation in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities. They are responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared and served in adherence to nutritional guidelines, sanitation standards, and budget constraints. As a supervisory role, the position requires strong management and organizational skills. Proficiency in relevant software applications for diet planning and inventory management is also beneficial. A bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field is typically required. Moreover, many employers prefer candidates who have the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential from the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals. Prior roles a person might have before becoming a Dietary Supervisor could include Dietary Aide, Dietetic Technician, or Food Service Manager.
